Thessaloniki hosts first Balkan U16 water polo championship

The Hellenic Swimming Federation, together with the Municipality of Thessaloniki, is organising the inaugural Balkan Under‑16 Water Polo Championship as part of the “Megas Alexandros” International Games. The tournament will run from 16 to 19 July at the Poseidonio swimming pool.

National teams from Greece, Serbia, Montenegro, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey and North Macedonia will compete, with Hungary participating in exhibition matches. A total of 24 matches are scheduled across four days, and the event is free to the public. All games will be broadcast on the Hellenic Swimming Federation’s television channel (KOE TV).
