Thessaloniki imposes 48‑hour road closure for flyover demolition
From 23:00 on Friday 12 June 2026, traffic police in Thessaloniki will enforce a 48‑hour full closure of the Eastern Internal Ring Road (EIR) at the K11 (Pylaias‑Panorama) interchange to allow demolition of the Panorama flyover. All vehicles will be diverted in both directions via detour routes such as Prasakaki, John Kennedy and Foka streets, with additional signage directing traffic through nearby streets. The closure also restricts trucks over 3.5 t on Saturday and Sunday and bans parking on several road sections. A brief ten‑minute shutdown of the Thessaloniki ring road between Agios Pavlos and Toumba was scheduled for 11:55‑12:05 on 11 June 2026 as part of the same works.
