Thessaloniki inaugurates new Glass Gallery at New Waterfront

The Municipality of Thessaloniki has inaugurated the Glass Gallery, a new art space located at the Sand Garden in the city's New Waterfront. Overlooking the Thermaic Gulf, the modern glass pavilion is designed to bring culture directly into the public sphere, following the establishment of the Glass Library.

The facility features specialized lighting, artwork protection equipment, and accessibility infrastructure for people with disabilities. The opening is marked by the exhibition ‘Transparent Sea Light,’ which showcases works by Greek and international artists from the collection of the Municipal Gallery of Thessaloniki.

Construction of the space was sponsored by the construction company AVAX AE. Local officials stated that the goal of the project is to create a living cultural cell that integrates art into the daily lives of residents and visitors alike.
