Thessaloniki inaugurates new KEFODE tax service center

The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has inaugurated the new Tax Procedures and Service Center (KEFODE) in Thessaloniki, marking a transition toward a digital-first tax administration. The center is located in Kalamaria and is designed to centralize tax procedures for the broader Northern Greece region.

The new operational structure aims to transform traditional tax offices into Tax Service Units (YFE). These local units will shift their focus from bureaucratic processing to providing direct guidance and support to citizens regarding digital tools. The KEFODE model relies on three pillars: the centralization of procedures to ensure speed and transparency, the implementation of digital workflows to reduce the need for physical presence, and the specialized role of local units in citizen support.

The inauguration was attended by Minister of National Economy and Finance Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Deputy Minister Dimitris Markopoulos, AADE Governor Giorgos Pitsilis, and the Mayor of Kalamaria Chrysa Araplou.
