Thessaloniki International Fair hosts animal protection campaign

The Special Secretariat for the Protection of Companion Animals, under the Ministry of Interior, has launched a new campaign at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition (DEPO) featuring a mascot named ‘Fylakas’ (Guardian). The dog character is designed to engage children and adults through themes of fantasy and adventure to promote empathy, responsibility, and respect toward animals.

A primary focus of this year’s presence is the ‘Safe Together, on Every Journey’ campaign. This initiative provides practical guidance on the safe transportation of pets in vehicles, emphasizing the use of proper equipment such as safety belts for dogs, carriers, and crates to ensure the safety of both the animals and human passengers. During the exhibition, visitors can access informative materials and receive free dog safety belts and other items for pet owners.
