Thessaloniki International Fair showcases technology and defense innovation

The 90th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) is highlighting technology, research, and innovation at the International Exhibition and Conference Centre. The Ministry of National Defence is showcasing advanced defense technologies in Pavilion 6, including virtual reality experiences, an F-35 fighter jet flight simulator, naval combat simulators, anti-drone systems, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Pavilion 17 serves as a hub for education and digital transformation, featuring the ‘Akademia’ section which connects academic knowledge with entrepreneurship. This area includes participation from universities, research centers, and startups. Notable academic contributions include the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) presenting a liquid propellant engine, nanosatellite projects by SpaceDot, and autonomous surface vehicle demonstrations by the AVRA team. Additionally, the University of Macedonia demonstrated biometric data collection through a biosensor system designed to measure spontaneous reactions to visual stimuli.
