Thessaloniki leads AI adoption in Greece, Adobe Acrobat index shows

An analysis by Adobe Acrobat via the AI City Index reveals the landscape of artificial intelligence adoption across Greek cities. Thessaloniki leads the country with an overall score of 78.30/100, combining high search interest with significant job market activity, recording 24.93 AI-related positions per million inhabitants.

While Athens maintains the highest concentration of AI job opportunities with 32.42 positions per million inhabitants, Chania shows the highest level of AI tool searches relative to its population, with 7.91 searches per 100,000 residents.

Nationally, Greece has an AI adoption rate of 19.1%, ranking 52nd globally and 26th in Europe. The data indicates a strong trend toward using AI for text-based tasks; searches for AI text correction tools are 3.5 times higher than traditional methods, and AI-driven CV building searches have reached 73% of the volume of traditional CV builders.
