Two separate legal cases were resolved by the Summary Misdemeanor Court of Thessaloniki involving violent or disruptive behavior.

A 37-year-old man was sentenced to 28 months in prison without the possibility of suspension for domestic violence. The court found him guilty of causing physical harm to his 29-year-old partner and making threats in the presence of their 2.5-year-old daughter. The victim testified that the defendant struck her in the face with his head, causing bleeding that required medical attention. Although the victim stated that their relationship had since reconciled and expressed a desire not to see him imprisoned, the court proceeded with the immediate sentence.

In a separate incident, a 42-year-old British passenger was sentenced to three months in prison, with a three-year suspension, for causing a disturbance on a flight from Newcastle to Heraklion. The individual, who was reportedly heavily intoxicated, acted aggressively toward the crew and other passengers and refused to follow instructions. This behavior forced the pilot to make an emergency landing at Thessaloniki’s Makedonia International Airport at approximately 01:30. The defendant admitted to his actions in court, citing intoxication and expressing regret.
