Thessaloniki Metro to delay Sunday service for fleet testing

The Thessaloniki Metro has announced a temporary change to its operating schedule for Sunday, October 11, 2026. Service will begin at 12:00 PM instead of the regular morning hours.

This adjustment is necessary to complete the final phase of integration testing for the two remaining train sets. The goal of these tests is to incorporate the full fleet into commercial operation according to the current schedule. The delayed start time applies to the first departures from the three terminal stations: Neos Sidirodromikos Stathmos, Nea Elvetia, and Mikra.

Additionally, the internal elevator at Nomarchia station will be out of service on Sunday and Monday due to scheduled technical maintenance.
