Thessaloniki police arrest 17 in targeted operations

Police in Thessaloniki conducted a series of targeted operations to combat delinquency, resulting in 17 arrests. The actions involved multiple units, including the Criminal Investigation, Immediate Response, Aliens, Traffic, and Thessaloniki Airport police departments.

- Narcotics: Two individuals were arrested during a drug transaction, and 34 packages of cannabis were seized. Another man was arrested with cocaine and €4,100; he was already wanted for a drug-related offense carrying an 11-year prison sentence. - Theft: Four individuals were arrested for shoplifting, attempting theft, and the theft of a mobile phone from a pedestrian. - Traffic and Weapons: Three people were arrested for traffic violations, including driving under the influence and driving without a license. A local man was also detained after a replica weapon with BBs was found in his vehicle. - Immigration and Legal Status: Three individuals were arrested for illegal residency, one of whom had an outstanding warrant for drugs, and two others were detained for outstanding court decisions.
