Thessaloniki police arrest man with impersonation equipment
A 45-year-old man was arrested in the Peraia area of Thessaloniki after being found in possession of equipment bearing Hellenic Police insignia. During a vehicle inspection, authorities discovered three wireless communication devices—one of which was tuned to Fire Service frequencies—along with a bulletproof vest, a jockey cap, gaiters, magnetic beacons, a utility belt, handcuffs, a full-face mask, and a replica ballistic helmet. The individual also possessed private security identification cards.
In separate police actions across the Thessaloniki Prefecture, five additional arrests were made. These include a 16-year-old and three accomplices involved in a violent robbery of a 73-year-old man, as well as a 29-year-old woman arrested for attempted theft on a city bus. Other arrests involved a 19-year-old who fled the scene of a bicycle accident in Kalamaria and two individuals caught driving under the influence.
