Thessaloniki police launch new probe after DNA results in death investigation
New investigations have been launched in Thessaloniki following forensic results regarding a high-profile case involving deceased women found in an apartment basement on Ypolochagou Angelaki Street.
Previously, a suspect had confessed to the deaths of a 42-year-old woman and a 46-year-old woman. However, double genetic testing has revealed that the remains discovered on the rooftop of the building do not belong to the 42-year-old woman identified by the perpetrator. Instead, laboratory analysis of hair and personal items, compared against genetic material from relatives, indicates the remains belong to an unknown third person.
The two women previously mentioned by the suspect remain missing. Authorities and the investigating magistrate are now pursuing new leads to identify the third individual and locate the missing persons.
