Thessaloniki ring road closed overnight for flyover construction
Traffic on the Eastern Inner Ring Road (Periferiaki) of Thessaloniki will be completely closed in both directions from 23:00 on Saturday 1 August 2026 until 05:00 on Sunday 2 August 2026. The closure is required to allow work on a new flyover and the removal of metal debris from two new bridges at the K11 (Pylaia) over‑pass.
Drivers heading toward Kavala/Katerini are to be diverted onto Prasakaki street, while traffic bound for Chalkidiki and the airport will be rerouted onto Foka street. Heavy‑vehicle drivers are advised to use the Monastiriou‑Egnatia‑Karamanlis axis. Police will monitor the detours, enforce speed limits and direct traffic according to the temporary signage.
