Thessaloniki flyover construction triggers two‑night inner bypass closure

Roadworks on the Flyover project in Thessaloniki will close the inner bypass (E‑90) for two consecutive nights. The closure runs from 23:00 to 05:00 on Friday 10 July and again on Saturday 11 July, with both directions blocked the first night and only the west‑bound lane blocked the second night between junctions K5 (Papagiorgiou) and K6 (Metéoron).

Greek traffic police will redirect vehicles through city streets, and drivers are urged to follow temporary signs, use navigation apps and allow extra travel time. The disruption is expected to cause congestion for motorists, particularly Serbian tourists travelling from the Evzoni border to Halkidiki resorts such as Kasandra, Sitonia and Nea Flogita. Alternate routes through the city centre and via the Dojran border crossing are suggested.

Authorities advise avoiding non‑essential trips during the night closures to reduce the risk of accidents and traffic jams.
