Thessaloniki to host 17th annual Honey Festival

The 17th Honey Festival is scheduled to take place from Thursday, October 8, to Sunday, October 11, at the AUTH park in Thessaloniki. Organized by the Thessaloniki Beekeeping Association in collaboration with the Beekeeping and Sericulture Laboratory of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and the 5th Community of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the event offers free admission.

Participating producers are members of the Association who will present various varieties of Greek honey. To ensure quality and authenticity amidst concerns regarding cheap imported products, all honey displayed has undergone laboratory testing by the AUTH Beekeeping Laboratory.

In addition to product displays, the festival includes an educational component where scientific staff from the AUTH laboratory will be available at a dedicated booth to provide information and answer public inquiries. The event aims to connect consumers directly with producers and promote knowledge about beekeeping and honey quality.
