Thessaloniki to host 3rd annual Rice Festival in September 2026
The 3rd annual Rice Festival is scheduled to take place on September 19 and 20, 2026, at the Thessaloniki waterfront. Organized by the Association of Rice Mills of Greece in collaboration with the Municipality of Delta and under the auspices of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the event aims to promote Greek rice.
Twelve award-winning local restaurants will set up outdoor kitchens to prepare original rice-based dishes for visitors. The culinary offerings will be accompanied by Mamos beer and various wine selections from the Mycava Vin Van mobile bar.
The festival program includes musical performances by the band Liaison, traditional dances, and an art exhibition by local primary school students. Educational components will feature speeches from academics and scientists, alongside interactive games for children supported by the 2nd Agricultural Cooperative of Chalastra Rice Producers.
