Thessaloniki to host FoodTech Hackathon 2026

The FoodTech Hackathon 2026 will take place in Thessaloniki from November 12 to 14, 2026, as part of the FOOD & DRINKS Expo by Detrop. The event aims to support businesses in the agri-food sector by enabling students, researchers, scientists, and entrepreneurial teams to transform innovative ideas into viable business solutions.

Participants will focus on four key areas: FoodTech (new technologies in food), FinTech (digital solutions for businesses), CleanTech & Circular Economy (green technologies), and Energy Solutions (energy saving). The hackathon provides opportunities for mentorship, networking with market entities, and potential business development prizes.

The Region of Central Macedonia is co-organizing the event alongside the NBG Business Seeds program of National Bank of Greece. Other partners and supporters include the Alexandria Innovation Zone, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, DEETH-Helexpo, Microsoft, and Bayer Hellas.
