Thessaloniki to host Greece’s Eurovision 2027 national final

Thessaloniki has been selected to host ‘Sing for Greece’, the national final to determine Greece’s entry for the 71st Eurovision Song Contest. The event, organized by the public broadcaster ERT, will take place in February 2027 and will consist of three live nights, including two semi-finals and a grand final.

Under the selection rules, up to 20 songs will compete in the semi-finals, with public voting advancing 12 artists to the final. The ultimate winner will be decided by a combination of public and jury votes. The winning artist will represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest in Burgas, Bulgaria, in May 2027.

ERT stated that moving the national final to Thessaloniki reflects a commitment to sharing major cultural and entertainment events with the entire country. Song submissions for the competition are open until November 1, 2024. Additionally, Greek Eurovision veteran Elias Kokotos has been named Show Supervisor for the 2027 contest in Bulgaria.
