Thessaloniki White Tower to turn green for World Pharmacists Day

To mark World Pharmacists Day, the White Tower of Thessaloniki will be illuminated in green on September 27. The Pharmaceutical Association of Thessaloniki is organizing an awareness event on the city's waterfront to highlight the role of pharmacists in primary healthcare.

From 10:00 to 19:00, an area between the statues of Alexander the Great and Konstantinos Karamanlis will feature a virtual pharmacy. Pharmacists will provide information to citizens on various health topics, including adult vaccinations, blood pressure measurement, the correct use of respiratory devices, and medication adherence.

Additional educational topics will cover the safe use of dietary supplements, obesity, and the proper disposal of expired medications. The event's central theme is ‘Empowering pharmacists for a healthier future’ and includes informational stands from companies providing pharmacy-distributed products.
