Thessaloniki woman files complaint over severe hospital injury
A 52-year-old woman in Thessaloniki has filed a legal complaint following a medical procedure at a public hospital that allegedly resulted in severe chemical burns to her genital organs. The woman, an employee at Papanikolaou Hospital, went to the facility on March 5 for a colposcopy and biopsy due to suspected lichen sclerosus.
The victim reported experiencing intense, unbearable burning sensations immediately after the procedure began, describing the sensation as feeling like “boiling water” had been poured on her. Authorities are currently investigating the incident as a case of serious bodily harm caused by negligence. The investigation will focus on the liquid used during the examination, the method of its application, and the medical response following the injury.
