Thessaloniki–Sporades ferry routes reach 100% capacity in August
Ferry connections between Thessaloniki and the Sporades islands have reached 100% capacity during peak days in August. According to Haris Karacharisis, the SeaJets shipping agent for Northern Greece, there is a strong trend of travelers from Northern Greece choosing the Sporades for their summer holidays.
Skopelos has emerged as a leading destination, with demand approximately 30% higher than for Skiathos and Alonissos. While a temporary dip in passenger numbers was noted around August 15, capacity is expected to return to 100% starting August 17.
The service, operated by the Speedrunner Jet, runs five times a week from June 26 through September 7. Travel times range from 3 hours and 10 minutes to Skiathos to 4 hours and 20 minutes to Alonissos. Ticket prices remain consistent with last year, with one-way fares priced at 36.70 euros for Skiathos, 40.30 euros for Skopelos, and 48 euros for Alonissos.
