Thessaly associations host events to honor large families

Associations for large families in the Thessaly region of Greece are organizing events to recognize and support multi-child households.

In Karditsa, the Association of Large Families of Karditsa held a ceremony at the 1st EPAL theater. The event, supported by the Holy Metropolis of Thessaly and the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi, honored 270 students, 90 university students, 20 new large families, and 15 families with more than five children. Local officials, including members of parliament and the Mayor of Karditsa, attended the ceremony.

In Magnesia, the Association of Large Families of Magnesia has announced an upcoming event titled ‘The Large Family – Roots of Life, Hope for Tomorrow,’ scheduled for November 1, 2026, at the Valis Hotel in Volos. Organized with AHEPA Chapter HJ-48 and EKPOL, the event will feature awards presented by Elder Ephraim of the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi to children and new large families. The initiative aims to highlight the role of large families in addressing Greece's demographic challenges and maintaining social cohesion.
