Thessaly hosts inaugural UNDER30 International Performing Arts Festival

The first edition of the UNDER30 International Performing Arts Festival, titled ‘THE BEGINNING’, will take place in Larissa, Thessaly, from August 23 to September 13. The event aims to create a space for meeting, experimentation, and dialogue for approximately 200 young artists from Greece and abroad.

The festival program includes theatrical performances, lectures, masterclasses, and participatory activities. It is designed to provide young creators with access to experiences typically found in major international cities, fostering a dialogue between tradition and contemporary creation.

Supported by the Region of Thessaly and funded through the ESPA Thessaly 2021–2027 program, the festival has secured 1,010,100 euros in funding for the 2026–2030 period to ensure long-term continuity and international presence. Regional Governor Dimitris Kouretas described the initiative as an argument against the migration of young talent, aiming to show that the region supports and listens to new generations of creators.
