Thessaly Region investigates Trikki S.A. over potential river pollution

Authorities from the Thessaly Region have launched an environmental investigation into the Trikki S.A. dairy industry following complaints from local residents regarding strong odors and the presence of a white substance in the discharge pipe leading to the Lethaio River.

An inspection team, including environmental specialists and representatives from the accredited laboratory ‘ENVIROLAB M.I.K.E.’, conducted an on-site assessment at the facility located on the Trikala–Karditsa road. Samples were collected from both the factory’s biological treatment plant outlet and the discharge point where the pipe meets the Lethaio River.

The collected samples have been sent for comprehensive chemical analysis. Results will be shared with the factory management, relevant authorities, and the public to ensure transparency. The outcome of these laboratory tests and the ongoing environmental audit will determine if further legal or administrative actions are required against the company.
