Thessaly Region joins DAPHNE project to decarbonise healthcare

The Thessaly Region participated in the 5th Interregional Meeting of the DAPHNE project, titled ‘Decarbonising Healthcare in EU Regions,’ held in Iași, Romania. The initiative focuses on the environmental and functional upgrading of healthcare services.

During the meeting, participants reviewed investments and modernization efforts in hospitals across Northeastern Romania, including the Iași Regional Hospital and the ‘Prof. Dr. Eduard Apetrei’ Hospital in Buhuși. Discussions centered on improving energy efficiency, hospital conditions, and the functional resilience of healthcare units while reducing their environmental footprint.

Following the meeting, the findings were presented to local stakeholders in Thessaly to continue the dialogue regarding the modernization of regional healthcare infrastructure.
