Thessaly Region signs contracts for six modern indoor swimming pools

The Thessaly Region has signed contracts with construction companies to build six modern indoor swimming pools in Tyrnavos, Farkadona, Farsala, Almouros, Elassona, and Palama. This initiative is part of a larger project by the regional authority, led by Dimitris Kouretas, to construct nine high-standard training facilities across several municipalities, including Pyli, Skopelos, and Meteora.

Each facility is designed to be an energy-autonomous building with a metal frame and modern thermal insulation. The main pools will measure 10.00 x 25.00 meters with variable depths ranging from 1.20 to 1.80 meters, making them suitable for school swimming programs and local athletic competitions.

The budget for each swimming pool is 1,335,000 euros including VAT. Construction is expected to be completed within 18 months, though contractors have committed to potentially delivering the projects ahead of schedule.
