Thessaly Region to build six new indoor swimming pools

The Thessaly Region has signed contracts for the construction of six new modern indoor swimming pools and training centers. This initiative, with an initial budget of nearly 8 million euros, aims to expand sports infrastructure beyond major urban centers like Larissa, Volos, Trikala, and Karditsa.

The project focuses on smaller and regional municipalities to provide better access to mass, school, and amateur sports for residents in more remote areas. Construction is set to begin immediately following the contract signings. The selected locations for these facilities include Almyros, Elassona, Tyrnavos, Palama, and Farkadona.
