Thi Nai Ecobay project approved near historic Thi Nai Lagoon

The Thi Nai Ecobay ecological housing project, located near the Thi Nai Lagoon in the Quy Nhon area, has received planning adjustments. The project involves a total investment of approximately 4,998 billion VND and covers a scale of about 117.93 hectares.

The approved adjustments include converting a portion of tourism villa land into residential housing, while adding space for schools and medical facilities. Notably, over 42,000 square meters previously designated for water-based accommodation has been removed. The planned area for public water use and mangrove forests has increased from approximately 58.27 hectares to 65.06 hectares to better align urban development with the natural estuary ecosystem.

The Thi Nai Lagoon holds significant historical importance, having been the site of a major naval battle on February 27, 1801, between the Tay Son forces and Nguyen Anh. Due to the scale and intensity of that conflict, the site is often compared to the famous Battle of Red Cliffs.
