Thái Nguyên: Over 100 homes damaged by regional road project
Construction of a regional connectivity road project linking Thái Nguyên, Bắc Ninh, and Phú Thọ has caused significant damage to residential properties in Thành Công Commune, Thái Nguyên Province. At least 101 houses and auxiliary structures have reported cracks, subsidence, and shifting roof tiles.
Local residents have reported severe structural issues, including large cracks in kitchen walls, floor tiles peeling due to ground sinking, and water leaking through roof fissures during rainfall. Some residents expressed fear that their homes are at risk of imminent collapse.
While the project developer and relevant authorities have conducted surveys to assess the damage, a dispute has emerged regarding compensation. Many residents have rejected the proposed compensation amounts, describing them as ‘very low’ and insufficient to cover the high costs of modern labor and construction materials required for repairs.
