Thái Nguyên restaurant owner defends 100,000 VND meal controversy
A social media controversy has emerged in Thái Nguyên regarding a 100,000 VND meal served at the Dũng Hồ restaurant. A Facebook user posted images of a plate containing rice, pickled vegetables, a fried egg, stir-fried chayote, grilled meat, and braised pork, warning others to avoid the establishment due to the high price.
Hoàng Dũng, the owner of the restaurant, responded to the claims by stating that the food is self-selected and customers are only charged after agreeing to the total. He noted that staff are instructed to reduce portions if a customer's budget is exceeded. Mr. Dũng also emphasized that the business holds all necessary licenses, uses ingredients with clear origins, and provides free soup and drinks, arguing that the social media posts lack sufficient context to prove the pricing is unfair.
