Thiago Lacerda returns to telenovelas in new role

Actor Thiago Lacerda is returning to telenovelas after a three-year hiatus, starring as Gabriel in the 7 p.m. production ‘Por você’. Following the end of his 26-year contract with Globo in 2024, Lacerda has focused on theater and monologues to expand his professional range.

Lacerda noted that his new character departs from traditional romantic hero stereotypes, portraying a contemporary man characterized by vulnerability, affection, and sensitivity rather than rigid masculinity. He expressed interest in using the role to provoke discussions regarding masculinity, fatherhood, and machismo.
