Thiago Reis Dias, 18-year-old footballer, dies after stroke

Thiago Reis Dias, an 18-year-old goalkeeper for the Trindade Atlético Clube (TAC) under-20 team, has died following an ischemic stroke. The athlete originally from Imperatriz, Maranhão, had joined the club in Goiás in late July.

According to club president Adilson Filho, Dias began experiencing a headache while in the team's lodging on a Sunday afternoon after training. Following medical intervention and a transfer to the Hospital Estadual de Urgências Governador Otávio Lage de Siqueira (Hugol) in Goiânia, he passed away on Thursday. The death has caused significant mourning among various football clubs in the Goiás region.
