His current club, Fluminense, released an official tribute calling him ‘the greatest defender in history’ and ‘our Monster.’ The club highlighted his significant impact on the institution, noting his previous professional tenure between 2006 and 2008, during which he helped secure the 2007 Copa do Brasil and reached the 2008 Copa Libertadores final. Silva has recorded 221 appearances, 19 goals, and four assists for the club.

Paris Saint-Germain also recognized the former captain and Brazilian international on his birthday. The club noted his legacy as their most decorated captain, a role he held from 2012 to 2020.
