Thiago Silva thanks supporters following his return to Fluminense

Brazilian defender Thiago Silva announced his return to Fluminense, signing a contract that runs until December 2026. The 41‑year‑old used his social‑media accounts to thank fans for the messages, prayers and encouragement he received after the move.

Silva highlighted that the outpouring of support has increased his motivation for the upcoming season. The deal marks his fourth spell with the Rio club, adding to his record of 212 appearances and 19 goals for the team. He joined Fluminense as a free agent after his contract with Portugal’s Porto expired.

He expressed deep gratitude, saying the fan affection made him feel privileged and will drive him to face the challenges ahead.
