Thibault Giroud dismissed by Union Bordeaux-Bègles

Thibault Giroud, the performance and physical preparation director for the rugby club Union Bordeaux-Bègles (UBB), has been dismissed with immediate effect. The decision follows months of conflict between Giroud and the club's management.

Reports indicate that tensions escalated due to disagreements regarding contract extensions and friction with manager Yannick Bru and members of the physical preparation staff. Giroud had been on medical leave since the summer and did not attend a scheduled preliminary meeting regarding his dismissal.

While his contract was originally intended to run until June 2027, Giroud has already secured a four-season agreement with Aviron Bayonnais starting in 2027. This sudden departure may allow him to join the Basque club sooner than originally planned.
