Thigh circumference linked to lower cardiovascular risk and mortality

Scientific studies suggest that larger thigh circumference and greater thigh muscle strength are linked to improved health outcomes and increased longevity.

A five-year study published in the American Journal of Medicine indicates that larger thighs are associated with a significantly lower risk of mortality, particularly regarding cardiovascular diseases. In patients with coronary heart disease, higher thigh muscle strength relative to body weight was found to notably reduce the risk of fatal cardiovascular events and overall mortality.

Additionally, a 2020 study published in Endocrine Connections involving research from China found that individuals over the age of 40 with thicker thighs are less likely to suffer from high blood pressure. This protective correlation was observed to be especially prominent among overweight or obese populations.
