Maldives tourism roadshow concludes in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Almaty

The National Hotels and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (NHGAM), in collaboration with Visit Maldives Corporation and the Maldives Association of Travel Agents & Tour Operators (MATATO), has concluded the ‘I AM Maldives CIS Region Roadshow’. The event took place from September 21 to 25, 2026, across Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Almaty.

The roadshow featured 26 companies and over 50 participants from the Maldivian tourism sector, including representatives from resorts, guesthouses, hotels, and travel agencies. More than 250 travel trade professionals attended the sessions in the three cities, providing a platform to showcase Maldivian tourism opportunities to key decision-makers in the CIS region.

Russia remains a critical market for Maldivian tourism, ranking as the second-largest source of arrivals in 2026. Kazakhstan also represents a growing market, ranking 11th in tourist arrivals as of June 2026. NHGAM President Abdulla Nasheed noted that the roadshow serves as a significant step in promoting local tourism within international markets.
