Thiếu phụ Nam Xương to be performed on Ngân mãi Chuông vàng stage

The traditional opera (cải lương) production ‘Thiếu phụ Nam Xương’ will be performed on the ‘Ngân mãi Chuông vàng’ stage, scheduled for recording on Sunday, October 18, at the HTV Theater. The play, written by Vân Anh and Hương Thu, is directed by NSƯT Chí Linh.

The story follows the tragedy of Vũ Nương, a virtuous woman who sacrifices her life to preserve her dignity after being unjustly accused of infidelity by her jealous husband, Trương Sinh (played by NSƯT Võ Minh Lâm), following his return from war. The production aims to highlight themes of trust, understanding, and the protection of women's dignity against harsh prejudices.

The cast features several artists who rose to prominence through the ‘Chuông vàng vọng cổ’ competition, including NSND Hồ Ngọc Trinh in the role of Vũ Nương, NSƯT Võ Minh Lâm as Trương Sinh, Minh Trường, Nhã Thy, Thúy Loan, Lê Quốc Phòng, and Trọng Tánh.
