Thân Đức Nam elected Chairman of Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Vietnam

The 5th National Congress of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Vietnam has officially convened. During the assembly, Thân Đức Nam was elected to serve as the Chairman of the Association.

The congress aims to evaluate the implementation of previous resolutions, discuss directions and tasks for the 2026-2031 term, and elect a new Executive Committee. The organization currently represents over 400,000 members across 2,515 commune-level associations and 34 provincial-level associations.

Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyễn Thị Hồng attended the event, expressing gratitude to the generations of youth volunteers. She noted the significant sacrifices made by the force, citing that out of more than 650,000 youth volunteers, over 6,800 died in combat, more than 41,000 were wounded, and over 15,600 suffered from chemical weapon exposure. The leadership emphasized the importance of the Association in educating younger generations and upholding revolutionary traditions.
