Thol Thirumavalavan criticizes DMK conduct and addresses power outages

VCK President Thol Thirumavalavan has criticized certain DMK leaders for using public protests to launch personal attacks, arguing that such behavior erodes the party’s dignified political legacy. Speaking in Tiruchy, Thirumavalavan noted that while past leaders like CN Annadurai and M Karunanidhi faced criticism, they maintained a civilized response, whereas current trends are negatively impacting the party’s public image.

Thirumavalavan also addressed regional infrastructure and policy issues. He called for a crop loan waiver for farmers and urged officials to provide transparent information to ministers regarding ongoing power shortages.

Recent power outages have caused disruptions for high-profile figures, including Revenue Minister KA Sengottaiyan and Thirumavalavan himself. During a press interaction in Vellore and a function in Tiruchendur, officials reported that outages were caused by transformer fuse failures and feeder faults. Despite government claims that power shortages were resolved through additional procurement, TNPDCL reports indicated widespread outages across dozens of locations.
