Thomas Gottschalk says he is cancer‑free and thanks fans

German TV legend Thomas Gottschalk announced on Instagram that he is currently cancer‑free after undergoing two operations, 33 radiotherapy sessions and a three‑week rehabilitation programme. He wrote, “I am totally overwhelmed – my update reached an incredible number of people in a short time,” and thanked the flood of messages, comments and well‑wishes from his followers. Gottschalk highlighted the support of his wife Karina, saying “without her I could not have done it.” He reminded readers that his diagnosis of a rare epitheloid angiosarcoma was made public in November 2025, after which he withdrew from his RTL show and public appearances. While celebrating the remission, he warned that the situation could change and said he is continuing regular check‑ups and taking part in an experimental vaccine trial at the University of Greifswald, receiving regular doses aimed at preventing a relapse.
