Thomas Gottschalk confirmed cancer-free after recent medical scan
German television presenter Thomas Gottschalk has been confirmed as cancer-free following a recent medical examination. The 76-year-old entertainer underwent a second Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan, which showed no remaining traces of the disease.
Gottschalk had previously disclosed a diagnosis of epithelioid angiosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer affecting the blood vessel cells in the urinary tract, in late 2025. His treatment regimen included multiple surgeries and 33 radiation sessions.
His wife, Karina Gottschalk, described the news as ‘a little miracle,’ noting that the initial prognosis for recovery had been very poor. While Gottschalk expressed relief, he noted that he is still in the process of recovery and does not yet feel entirely back to his usual self, though he reports feeling better each week.
