Thomas Müller extends Vancouver Whitecaps contract through 2027

Thomas Müller, the 37-year-old German midfielder and former World Cup winner, has signed a contract extension with the Vancouver Whitecaps. The new agreement keeps him with the club through the end of the 2027 MLS Sprint Season, which concludes on June 30, 2027.

Müller joined the Whitecaps as a free agent in August 2025 following a long career with Bayern Munich. Since his arrival, he has been a key figure in the team's success, contributing 19 goals and 12 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. His leadership helped guide Vancouver to its first MLS Cup final and a Canadian Championship title.

The extension comes as Major League Soccer prepares to transition its schedule to align with the European football calendar. The 2027 Sprint Season will serve as a transitional period before the league moves to a summer-to-spring format. Whitecaps sporting director Axel Schuster noted that Müller has helped the club reach new heights and has strengthened the team's winning mentality.
