Thomas Nadalini and Gloria Ioriatti secure podiums at Short Track World Tour in Vancouver

The 2026-2027 Short Track World Tour opened in Vancouver, Canada, with Italian skaters achieving notable individual success. Thomas Nadalini secured a second-place finish in the 1,000 meters after a multi-overtake maneuver on the final lap, finishing behind the Netherlands' Jens van ’t Wout.

In the women's division, Gloria Ioriatti earned her first career individual podium with a third-place finish in the 1,000 meters. She narrowly missed a second podium, finishing fourth in the 1,500 meters by only a few milliseconds. Other Italian performances included Luca Spechenhauser taking third in the 1,000m B-final and Chiara Betti finishing fifth in her respective B-final.

The event saw mixed results for the Italian team, which included ten athletes. While individual performances were strong, the team faced challenges in the relay events and competed without key skaters Arianna Fontana and Pietro Sighel.
