Thomas Pannone throws perfect game in Minor League Baseball

Thomas Pannone, a left-handed pitcher for the Nashville Sounds (Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers), achieved a perfect game during a game against the Durham Bulls. Pannone pitched nine innings, striking out eight batters and allowing no hits, walks, or errors, using only 94 pitches to complete the feat.

This marks the first nine-inning solo perfect game in the minor leagues since 2017. It is also the third in Nashville Sounds history and only the fifth in the 142-year history of the International League. Pannone, who previously played for the KIA Tigers in the KBO League in 2022 and 2023, emphasized that his success demonstrates that precision and command can overcome a lack of high velocity in modern baseball.

Pannone’s performance comes after a challenging period, including a torn left forearm flexor tendon and a brief stint with the Major Leagues earlier this season. Following the game, the stadium grounds crew presented him with the pitcher's plate as a commemorative gift.
