Thomas Preining leads DTM testing at Sachsenring

Thomas Preining, driving for Manthey Racing, recorded the fastest lap time during the official DTM testing session at the Sachsenring. Preining, who currently trails championship leader Maro Engel by a single point, set a time of 1:17.827, making him the only driver to break the 1:18 mark.

His Manthey Porsche teammate, Ricardo Feller, secured the second-fastest time, signaling a strong performance for the team ahead of the upcoming race weekend. The DTM event at Sachsenring is scheduled to take place from September 11 to 13, 2026, serving as the seventh of eight stops in the season.

The race weekend will feature 21 drivers and eight manufacturers, including Aston Martin, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche. In addition to the main DTM series, the event will include support series such as ADAC GT4 Germany and the BMW M2 Cup.
