Thomas Sachsenmaier awarded 2026 Julius-Campe-Preis

Thomas Sachsenmaier has been awarded the 2026 Julius-Campe-Preis by the Hoffmann und Campe publishing house. The award recognizes individuals or institutions that have made outstanding contributions to literary criticism and the promotion of literature.

Sachsenmaier, a trained literary scholar, was selected for his work as a BookToker, Instagram book blogger, and radio presenter. Tim Jung, managing director of Hoffmann und Campe, noted that Sachsenmaier uses digital platforms to provide authors with visibility and resonance, helping diverse audiences access new ideas and stories.

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Frankfurt Book Fair on Friday, October 9, 2026. The presentation will feature a laudatory speech by Sebastian Fitzek. The prize includes 99 bottles of fine wine and a facsimile of Heinrich Heine’s manuscript, ‘Die französischen Zustände’.
