Thomas van Tonder attempts world record at Bloukrans Bridge

South African OCR world champion Thomas van Tonder is attempting a unique world record attempt under the Bloukrans Bridge in South Africa as part of the Red Bull Bridge Bars challenge.

The feat involves navigating an obstacle course consisting of more than 600 bars suspended beneath the arch of the iconic concrete bridge, at a height of over 216 meters. Unlike traditional rope climbing, this challenge requires the athlete to use only his hands to traverse the course in three distinct stages: ascending, moving horizontally, and finally descending.

The attempt is described as a significant physical and mental test, as the athlete has only one opportunity to complete the course without restarting.
