Thomas Walkup enters contract dispute with Olympiacos B.C

A contract dispute has escalated between basketball player Thomas Walkup and Olympiacos B.C. Walkup has filed a unilateral written complaint to terminate his contract, seeking immediate release from the club. Olympiacos has rejected this move, asserting that his contract remains valid until the summer of 2027.

Following his unilateral complaint, Walkup failed to appear for scheduled ergometric and medical examinations in Greece. In response, Olympiacos B.C. announced it will call the player to an immediate hearing to explain his absence and stated it reserves the right to use all legal means to protect its interests.

The tension stems from Walkup’s interest in joining Dubai BC. Reports indicate that Dubai BC has made multiple offers to Olympiacos to secure the player, including a proposal of approximately 3 million euros annually, which the Greek club has so far declined. Walkup had previously expressed a desire to play where he feels respected and valued, a stance that contributed to the breakdown in relations.
