Thomas Walkup Olympiacos Dubai Basketball EuroLeague basketball transfer

Olympiacos B.C. has officially announced the departure of guard Thomas Walkup to Dubai Basketball. The agreement follows a five-year tenure during which Walkup helped the Greek club secure 12 titles, including the 2026 EuroLeague championship.

Reports indicate that Dubai Basketball will pay a compensation fee to Olympiacos estimated between 2.2 and 2.6 million dollars. The move includes a multi-year contract for the 33-year-old American guard, who is expected to join the Dubai roster for the 2026/27 season.

Dubai Basketball expressed gratitude to Olympiacos for their professionalism and constructive approach during negotiations. The transfer is seen as a strategic move for the UAE-based club as they aim to compete at the highest levels of European basketball under coach Xavi Pascual.
